About

Saud Asaad Al-Thaqeb is associate professor of finance at Kuwait University’s College of Business Administration, where he has taught since 2016. Before that, he was a Teaching Assistant within Kuwait University while with earning his PhD in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma. Previously, Dr. Al-Thaqeb worked in the energy sector as a sourcing specialist for EQUATE Petrochemical. He also has professional experience in the financial sector, where he worked at Merrill Lynch as a financial analyst in their wealth management team. Additionally, Dr. Al-Thaqeb holds a Master of Science and an MBA in Finance as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University. His research focuses on Islamic finance corporate finance, corporate governance, entrepreneurship,  startups financing and international finance.

He has published several articles in journals such as:  International Journal of Finance & Economics, Research in International Business and Finance, The Journal of Economic Asymmetries and Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics. He presented his research in several international conferences such as Financial Management Association (FMA) and The International Conference on Banking and Finance, World Finance Conference, and Auckland Finance Meeting
