A word from the Dean

Prof. Adel Al-Wugayan
It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you to the College of Business Administration, Kuwait University.  As the pioneer Business School in the State of Kuwait, CBA continues to prepare innovative business professionals, many of whom will hold future key positions in the private and public sector. In pursuing academic excellence, CBA was the first business school in the country to receive the ACCSB accreditation in 2005, a status successfully sustained as a 20-years-journey through continuous improvement, principles-based and outcomes-focused education. Today, CBA is proudly among the 5% of the business schools AACSB accredited worldwide. In this spirit, we are holding ourselves accountable for improving business practice through a commitment to strategic management, learner success and impactful thought leadership.

CBA employs over 117 faculty members with PhD degrees from well-known universities in the world. This vast intellectual capital enabled CBA impactful research productivity being among the highest in the region, with many faculty publishing in top-tier journals as listed by JCR and Scopus.

Our student body is the one most vibrant sea of youth in our country. On their own initiative, and supported by faculty and Deanship, CBA students form their student clubs around departments and organize events with key public speakers – including Ministers and key figures from the private sector. The College also participates in student exchange programs that enable them to explore academia in different parts of the world and extend their experiences beyond Kuwait.

With the advent of new Sabah Alsalem campus, the college is keen to leverage these newly acquired physical resources to provide innovative teaching technologies and propel research and scientific achievements to a higher level. In these uncertain, dynamic, and opportunity-rich environment, as well as serving as the Acting Dean, I will dedicate myself in safeguarding and extending the CBA achievements. To this end, I will draw on my experience as the former Secretary-General of the Planning Council of Kuwait Government as well as former CBA Associate Dean. We, faculty, students, and professional staff together will keep CBA continuously improving in alignment with global challenges, guided by our ethics and values.
